What is Bullying?
An act that makes an individual do something they do not want to do, or saying domething derogatory.
Why?
We chose to focus our attention on bullying as it was a very prominent theme in Golding's Lord of the Flies. And it is an issue that has been focused on heavily in our school system.
Bullying has happened for many centuries, exisiting in individual lives as well as on a larger, world-wide scale. Many people have suffered verbal and physical abuse at the hands of a bully.
What Should We Do About It?
Schools should have assemblies to increase their students' awareness of the effects of bullying, and to encourage them to report bullying incidents.
Parents to to talk to their kids to know what is going on in their lives. Kids are very good at hiding things, especially if they are being bullied.
"Many cases of bulling lead to violence and suicide. Bullying has surfaced as a national crisis."
